Founded in 1884, the California Tennis Club has a rich history of hosting world-class tennis dating back to the Pacific Open in the 1950’s-60’s. The historic CTC is the oldest existing tennis club existing west of the Mississippi River and the eighth oldest in America. Warmly referred to as The Cal Club by it’s members, the CTC has two Plexi-cushion 2000 stadium courts and eight Decco Turf cushioned courts, with eight courts lit for night play.
Tennis Director Steve Jackson of the California Tennis Club has created a great facility for the Dons’ Men’s Tennis team. Jackson is looking forward to bringing world class college tennis to the California Tennis Club this fall for the third annual Battle in the Bay Tennis Classic, October 12-16. This unique tennis tournament will be open to the public, and the California Tennis Club looks forward to creating a community based top-notch tennis tournament that will serve all who attend.
